Back Again

I realize i haven't added anything here for quite some time. Well, when you have a 3 year old certain things don't always happen in the time you expect.

So, Xavier is now 3 and his English is coming on great and his Spanish is pretty good, although he often makes some funny sounding noise which he says is him talking Spanish. I have to admit - it sounded that way to me at the start as well!

He got his haircut yesterday and appently "uses a spiderman web" to leap onto the chair. All we heard was "i'm handsome" when he got back.

His two favoutite phrases just now:

"I have idea"
"Why"

Out and About

After a meeting today i met Loreto and Xavi. Then the fits started. The crying. Hitting. Wanting to be lifted up.

In defence i was up early, but i don't know that crying is something to be ashamed of.

Anyway, Xavi has fallen asleep - seems like he is having an argument with us every couple of days - the terrible two's - many have warned me.

Off on holiday in 2 weeks to Spain. Some rest will only be a good thing (and some reading).

Not Well

Xavi is sick today. At one point he just got up and when iasked him where he was going he just said "bed". He's never said that before so i followed behind him and he was lying crying. Was a bit of a shock as he usually lets you know when something is wrong. Well, after about an hour of questioning, i figured out he has a headache. We gave him a little Calpol and right now he is running backwards and forwars up and down the hall. Back to normal.

Yesterday we went to the transport museum here in Glasgow. Amazing place which is getting £50 million investment to create "Glasgow as it used to be". I will take pictures and post them next time. Xavi loves it so should be soon.

As i was writing this i hear him shouting. I walk in and he *somehow* managed to climb onto the top of a large cupboard we have - NO idea how he managed it. After some coaxing he showed me. Then started crying coz he was stuck. Kids are funny!

John Peel

Bought John Peel yesterday. I used to listen to him on the odd occassion and moreso when i stayed in Canada and Chile. He brought some great tracks to me, but i just liked his style.

I have been meaning to read this for a while and i'm enjoying it so far.

Today's Parent Quote

"Xavi ... come out of the bin."

Temporary House and Style

You know how kids love to hide. Well, we decided it would be a nice idea to create a temporary house for our son. It is funny how no matter how many people's houses you go to, when they got kids the place looks unusually relaxed (toy everywhere).

I wonder whether some style guru can somehow create an acceptable ambience for people with young kids so that rather than the house being a "mess", it can be an "ensemble" or something. You then wouldn't have to run around cleaning up the house when someone arrives as it would now be stylish to adopt this new idea.

The temporary house is still there. He dives into it every so often and "hides" - becomes more popular at bedtime.

I mean to get some pictures on Flickr - phone in broken, but hopefully i will fix that this week and get some up. Finally a message from Xavi ...
